It’s a hustle

Being yourself, requires muscle

One hand‘s holding you up, whilst the others got a shovel

Just, digging your way through the noise of their “no’s”

When they say you can’t do it just cause they think so

But it’s a vision

Not every lens has your prescription

If you see yourself clearly you can see what they’ve been missing

The way you live your life doesn’t require their permission

And if it did they wouldn’t pay admission

Whipping out opinions, fast facts sharp quips

Getting told your too much, not enough they both hit

Hard life is a subjective, the descriptions are a miss

But adjectives have the objective to tell you what to think

Do ever wonder what your life could be like if you worked for it

Ever wonder what might heal after it hurts a bit

First things first you’ve gotta fend for your self

And when there’s no defence left

Become a shield for someone else.

Managing this life that I’ve been juggling

Tryna figure out the missing pieces has been puzzling

It’s not like I’m not smart I know my brains been working

But there’s times where I’ve lagged and my heads been hurting

I’ve been slower to respond not just in texts but real life

I’ve been slow in moving on & it reflects in real time

It’s not that I’m incompetent incapable, un-inclined

I’m not unravelled I just need to unwind

And decompress

Success guarantees you some stress

Investing in yourself means you can’t believe you’re second best

So let them tell you who you are, but don’t tell ‘em what’s next

Let ‘em keep playing chequers whilst you’re dominating chess - I digress.
