Context

This year has been the hardest.

Even though I'm studying and feeling at my smartest

I'm stressed, my emotions are compressed

Because I know you need me I've been working at my best

But I keep on making mistakes

I'm just giving you some context.

And I thought it was a blessing

Cause what's the point in crying if the tears don't have a lesson

Spread thin, sat in puddles of my sins

I wish I had the tools to build a door and let you in

& my soul cries.

And now because I'm broken

I'm trying to show my value through the words that I have spoken

In parts, I'm blinded by my dark

I hope from this that you'll see I'm giving my fair half

Breath down my neck each morning

Don't pretend the signs aren't there

You take them as a warning

Hold your head up

& know that just because they're forming

Against you doesn't mean they'll win

This serves as your next warning

I'm just giving you some context.
