Listen Up Songwriting Semi Finals

The Songwriting Prize judges shortlist songs from set geographical groups, in order to find the Top 100 songwriters in Australia, with one individual taking out the coveted spot of The Songwriting Prize Overall Winner.

The Newcastle Semi Finals take place on 9th August and Li Laurent has achieved the Top 10 out of 444 submissions in 2024. 

Over the years, Listen Up have seen thousands of musicians come through The Songwriting Prize. Previous winners include: Tempus Sun (2016, VIC), Seb Mont (2017, VIC), Leonie Kingdom (2018, QLD), Velvet Bloom (2019, VIC), NEAV (2020, NSW), BOI (2021, NSW), Timothy Wolf (2022, VIC) and last year’s winner; Chloe Gill (2023, NSW)
